As a leader in the IT Infrastructure team, the AV Systems Integration Manager will oversee the design, installation, and tier III support of all AV services in support of teaching, learning, communication, and collaboration. The position will be responsible for the standards, best practices, capacity planning, and management of in-room AV solutions. The AV Systems Integration Manager will have in-depth knowledge of a number of AV technologies, while keeping well-informed of multiple vendors, and emerging technologies. Working closely with academic, research, and administrative departments, the AV Systems Integration Manager will develop forward thinking AV strategies that meet the divers needs of the community.

The role will be responsible for the design and delivery of effective and easy to use AV solutions, that facilitate content sharing, remote collaboration, and provide the recording functionality. The AV Systems Integration Manager will partner with other IT groups to influence strategic direction and ensure interoperability. Additionally, the successful candidate will be expected to manage business relationships with a number of different AV vendors, consultants, and integration providers. The position will also act as a mentor and an escalation point to the AV support team, providing guidance and support in troubleshooting of AV issues, and will lead interaction with vendor support teams.

The AV Systems Integration Manager will partner closely with other Infrastructure group leaders to help set overall direction, interoperability, and vision for the IT Infrastructure. Working closely with various groups both within the IT organization and with the wider community, the AV Systems Integration Manager must demonstrate the ability to explain technical solutions to non-technical stake holders. Strategy and Planning

 Lead a partnership with academic, administrative, and research departments to provide innovative campus-wide AV solutions that promote easy to use in-room collaboration services

Develop strategic plans and practices that support an integrated and progressive AV solutions for the campus to best meet current and future education and research needs. Obtain feedback and recalibrate priorities and activities based on such feedback

Document and develop in-depth knowledge of the existing AV and collaboration infrastructure and technology portfolio

Develop, document, communicate and enforce AV and collaboration technology standards and policies

Conduct research on emerging technologies in support of infrastructure development efforts and recommend technologies that will improve ease of use, performance, reliability, cost effectiveness, and infrastructure flexibility

Develop, document, make recommendations, and communicate plans for investing in AV and collaboration infrastructure, including tools and techniques for managing the infrastructure

Develop and implement methods to measure and report AV and collaboration performance and reliability Operational Management

Partner with departments and IT leadership to design and document in-room AV and collaboration solutions ? Engage and oversee outside integrators and contractors in support of room installation, ensuring as-built documentation is provided

Design and oversee thorough quality control procedures to ensure rooms are installed as designed ? Asset inventory management, both in-room and spares ? Review new and existing AV projects, systems design, and procurement/outsourcing plans for compliance with IT standards and architectural plans ? Lead development and implementation of next generation AV and collaboration technologies, and reporting and analytics tools

Provide leadership to, and manage members of the AV Services team

Set, and measure, goals for direct reports and the AV group as a whole
