Multi Location University O365 Case Study
Our client, a California, multi-site University needed to migrate to O365. They were spread across 10 physical campuses and wanted to move to a single tenant cloud architecture. The client’s faculty and staff were in an aging environment (2010) and all students were in O365. They did not have the inhouse knowledge required to unite all of this under a single tenant, navigating complex firewall rules and networking environment. Additionally, they had governance challenges, a lack of standardization and a lack of automation. They required a partner with a proven track record of success that understood the complex challenges of universities as well as could unite all of O365 under a single tenant.
- Multi-campus into single tenant O365
- Complex firewall rules, and networking environment
- Needed governance
- Lack of in-house knowledge to make the move
THE AUTUMN GROUP SOLUTION
We began working with the client to understand the business driver behind the project. They wanted to take advantage of the cloud, pricing and new features offered through O365 as well as unite students, faculty and staff under a single platform. Our experience working in implementing O365 combined with our team and direct contact with Microsoft gave the client confidence in our approach.
We conducted a deep dive in order to gain a true understanding and completed questionnaires, personas, policies and procedures and then created a strategy recommendation with discovery, remediation, pilot programs, velocity migrations and clean up. We applied best practices and navigated their complex challenges. Throughout the project, we worked in tandem with the client and created a consultative and collaborative approach that produced a successful implementation.
